The policy and action plan of government of India focus on encouraging and promoting design led innovation and creativity in large, medium and small enterprises. Formation of India Design Council is a welcome move in this direction.

The global economic meltdown has resulted in slower growth for Indian companies in few sectors. However, select Indian companies have surprised markets with their double digit growth due to innovative product and service designs. This fact emphasizes that Design thinking combined with local innovation and Indian mindset can play a very crucial role in achieving a strong growth path even in the turbulent times. Winning by Design should be the new age Mantra for India Inc.
